dada

For many years now, I’ve been blessed with an interest in Dadaism and its ideas. I’m not a big fan of much of the visual art, but am completely enamored by the first movement that occurred in the early 20th century and the waves it produced in social attitude {it affected some of us, anyway}.

“…Dada is a virgin microbe that penetrates with the insistence of air into all the spaces that reason has not been able to fill with words or conventions” -Tristan Tzara Lecture 1922

Most of my own Dada exploits have been mild, compared to those of old. Rather than put glue on seater theats I have participated in many Net Art collaborations with Chris Joseph {Babel} who is currently working in residence at Liecester’s Institute of Creative Technologies. You can see our collaborations at 391.org or at The 404 along with many other artists who have taken apart in all sorts of lovely creative expressions on the WWW.
